Hindu's don't eat beef but they wear leather boots, belts, and cars with leather. Still killing a cow right?

Hindus try not to b selfish enough to kill some animal for just a meal, so we r vegetarians. We try to minimise the use of leather as much as possible so that animals r nt killed , but coz world is changing with globalisation , we have to make some adjustments with the rest of world so we use leather when there isno other alternative.Anyway not all leather come from cow it , it can come from other animals also. There is a whole logical philosophy behind not killing cow, will tell u in case u r interested . for that just pm me or mail me.

Reply:Try plugging the HDMI cable into the wall socket and see what it does. Oh wait, nevermind.
Reply:You can have leather out of a cow which has died a natural death. But I am sure nobody would like to eat the beef of a very old cow.

But actually:

%26quot;In Hinduism, the cow is considered sacred and its protection is a recurrent theme in which she is symbolic of abundance, of the sanctity of all life and of the earth that gives much while asking nothing in return. Most Hindus respect the cow as a matriarchal figure for her gentle qualities and providing nurturing milk and its products for a largely vegetarian diet. Hindus do not worship the cow, yet it holds an honoured place in society, and most Hindus do not eat beef.%26quot; - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_cow

Also, what you eat makes a big difference to how your body and mind functions. It is okay to wear stones, but it is not okay to eat stones. Eating beef would increase your karmic debt. It would also be increasing tamas (see below) in your body. Wearing leather objects is not encouraged in Hinduism, and is strongly discouraged in some quarters, but its effect is much limited compared to ingesting beef.
Reply:you are so right. i have never thought of it that way before...
Reply:yup..absolutely...but the thing is,all Hindus are vegetarians, but not all are vegan..there%26#039;s a difference, right???it all depends on the way people look at it.some people can also say that vegetarians are %26#039;killing%26#039; plants,it%26#039;s an absolutely valid point.like i said,it all depends on the way people see it.
Reply:And if leberals attempt to convince me that I%26#039;m wrong for being conservative, do they really support (liberty) freedom?..
